Honoring Commissioner Kathleen Peters: A Legacy of Leadership and Compassion in Mental Health
Join us in celebrating her unwavering commitment by supporting mental health services in our community.
About the Fundraiser
As 2024 draws to a close, the Pinellas County Commission wants to express their heartfelt gratitude for the exceptional leadership and unwavering commitment to the people of Pinellas County displayed by Commissioner Kathleen Peters during her year as Chair. Her dedication to addressing the mental health and addiction crises has been nothing short of inspiring and our community is better for her efforts.
Her background in Human Development, coupled with tireless advocacy for behavioral health treatment reform, has transformed the landscape of mental health care in our community. The “no wrong door” approach she championed has made it easier for those in need to access vital services, and her collaborative efforts with community partners have streamlined pathways to treatment and enhanced education on these critical issues.
The challenges posed by mental illness, addiction, and homelessness are significant, yet her resolve to improve access to care and preventive measures was a constant during her term. She led with compassion, empathy, and an unwavering commitment to Pinellas County residents.
In this spirit of gratitude, we invite our community to honor Commissioner Peters and her dedication by donating to Eleos (formerly PEMHS) in her name. This gesture not only celebrates her achievements but also supports the vital work being done to improve the lives of those affected by mental illness and addiction in our community.
Thank you, Chair Peters, for your leadership and for always keeping the well-being of Pinellas County residents at the forefront. We are fortunate you answered the call to serve.
